Many of the pieces that I have created on commission have focused on real places that are important to the folks that I make them for. They often feature particular buildings or animals and usually have a function, whether it's to adorn a particular place in their home, to signify an important time in their lives, or even to hold the ashes of a loved one.
This lidded jar was created for a client who requested a piece that featured the moose, the black bear, apple trees, birches and stone walls, all of which are reminiscent of her home.
This lidded jar features Coos County Nursing Home in West Stewartstown, NH. The left photo shows the barn that is part of the Coos County Complex and was at one time a working dairy farm. This was created as a retirement gift for a long time employee.
